Nuclear Waste
When The Rivers Are Hot

This song has gone around the world, thanks to

Youtube’s Vinyl Maestro Ullar Siir’s

promotion of the 7” Vinyl Single.

The song was written initially about Nuclear Pollution,

where “Hot" means Radioactive,

however many Vinyl Aficionados now take it literally,
as referring to Climate Change,
which is okay with Ross Campbell, who wrote and performs it.

He still sells the last pristine 7" vinyl copies through Discogs.

was Ross Campbell's
early Swing Band with

Mairi Maclean on Rhodes
Piano & Backup Vocals,

Ross Campbell on Lead Vocal & Guitar

Eric Leuke on Drums and
Darryl Goede on Bass

After Fat Chants split up, Ross decided to put this song on

The Ross Campbell FatBand's Vinyl LP
I'm Talkin' To You.

Produced by Claire Lawrence at
Pinewood Studios in Vancouver,

also For Sale at Diskogs.com

Producer Claire Lawrence had quite a profound influence
on both the basic musical structure AND the lyrics of this song.
He encouraged The FatBand's rhythm section to re-interpret
Ross's original bass line & reggae beat anchoring the song.

Claire also suggested that Ross write new "less political"
lyrics to make the song more commercial.

Ironically, this version is is not as popular
as the original version, especially in the
Global Vinyl Collectors Community.
